From The Desk of Pricipal-In-Charge

Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya (affiliated to the University of North Bengal) is set in the midst of the natural beauty of the Dooars region with the ever-flowing Torsa river on one hand and the historical grandeur of the royal legacy of Coochbehar on the other. Amidst this all is the scenic village of Ghoksadanga where our college is situated. Our primary goal is to raise the standard of education and the enlightenment of the students of this college to new heights. At present our chief focus is on developing our college so as to offer more Honours courses in various subjects in the Arts, Science and Commerce stream so that we can offer greater opportunities for advancement to our students. Through the influence of education and culture we hope to give the students a new perspective on life and the world.
In our effort to provide improved facilities to our students, we are trying to modernize our library and bring in books on various different subjects in order to encourage our students in their endeavours and increase their interest in their studies. We also intend to open facilities for distance learning for post-graduate courses in the future as a further step in helping our students. In the aim to encourage our students in a holistic development, we plan to provide facilities for sports as well as activities such as in the form of the N.C.C. or the N.S.S.
We are certain that the generosity that the Government has shown in terms of aiding the college in the development of our infrastructure will continue. I am sure that my dream of seeing Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya become a model college will come true with the help of the generous spirited Organising Committee, the professors, the students and the non-teaching staffs of this educational institution.
